Welcome

Griffith University’s commitment to academic integrity is based on a two-tiered evidence-based approach that is underpinned by the literature and practice in the field.  It focuses on preventing academic misconduct while allowing for students to be provided with educational and developmental responses where a breach is not intentional but is the result of the student’s lack of academic skills.  However, more deliberate or blatant academic misconduct will attract more severe penalties.

These strategies to prevent, detect and manage cases of academic misconduct are integrated into the University’s Student Academic Misconduct Policy and Institutional Framework for Promoting Academic Integrity among Students at Griffith and the whole process is centrally managed by the Student Academic Integrity Coordinator.  The Coordinator provides support to academic staff and manages the centralised tracking of breaches of academic integrity on a central database.
