Strategies
As engagement in academic misconduct is one of a number of indicators that a student is ‘at risk’ of losing their academic good standing and leaving the University, Griffith has adopted a two-pronged strategy:
- The Amber Risk Assessment Strategy (for all students) - requires Course Convenors, on the basis of the first assessment item, to make contact with 'at-risk' students for the purpose of setting clear learning expectations, providing assessment feedback and information about institutional supports to manage learning and personal issues.

- The English Language Enhancement Course (for all NESB students, domestic and international) – five discipline specific courses focused on the development of English language skills relevant to the academic culture of Australian universities including key text types in the discipline, assessment task analysis, summarising and synthesising texts.
